Points For Consideration
Technology has always been intimately connected to the body. Someday soon, batteries might not be such an issue for smartwatches (and other wearables). Our bodies burn off 2,000-2,500 calories daily, which can power a smartphone.
The next generation of digital devices may not only be close to our own bodies, they may also be powered by them.
If only a portion of the energy may be siphoned, our own bodies can in theory be used to conduct numerous digital devices, from medical implants to digital contact lenses– without a battery in sight. How cool would that be?!
Scientists have taken new strides toward unlocking this body electric potential. The energy in our bodies exists in a variety of forms, with a majority of them needing only some slight manipulations before they may be used to power electronic devices.
There’s always a light side and a dark side to technology.Watch the below cut from movie “The Matrix”. It’s make you think twice about your body becoming a battery.
- Which side of battery technology do you side with?
- What will our body electric look like in a few years, from your view?
