Points For Consideration
The “energy independence” meme in the modern White House signing ceremony for President Trump’s Executive Order, which directs the EPA to start rolling back regulations controlling climate change, reminds me of when preceding presidents touted nuclear power to replace foreign oil–even though less than one % of U.S. power is made of oil and less than one % of our petroleum makes electricity. The suggested linkage of today is at least illogical, isn’t it?
What is the difference between an ‘Energy Independent’ and our ‘Energy Independence’?
- How much oil is actually turned into electricity for power use?
